Could AI help us discover where consciousness lies in the brain?
Some of the world’s big technology firms are trying to use AI to read brain activity. Brain scans definitionally generate huge quantities of data. Reading gigantic data sets is exactly what AI is very good at doing. Why not just put the two together? Moreover, science now possesses several methods of extracting data from the brain including fMRI and EEG. So, there will be oodles of data for AI to work with. Watch this space.
