Asimov’s three laws of robotics get overhauled.

Asimov was clearly on the right track when he formulated his three laws. But they have not stood the test of time. For a start, they can conflict with each other. This article examines the state of today’s ethical discussion around AI safety. The bad news is that much more work needs to be done. A core component of that is to educate people generally as to what is and is not realistic. But progress is being made. In that vein, the article proposes five new laws of robotics.
