Thought-provoking collection of essays on artificial intelligence
Brockman’s book consists of 25 essays from a range of scientists, philosophers and entrepreneurs on the promise and dangers of AI. There is something here for everyone, since there are many different opinions set out in the essays. They pretty much all start from the premise that man is a machine just as AIs are machines. So, anything we can do they will in due course be able to do as well, only better and quicker than us. So, the question is not if or when but rather how? How can we, and how should we, design the artificial intelligence of the future?
