Masterful summary of cross-over research between AI and neuroscience.
Hassabis et al provide a comprehensive analysis of neuroscience research benefitting the world of AI, and vice versa. They make a heart-felt plea for such cross-over work to continue. To that end, they cite numerous examples where such work in neuroscience has already given advantage to AI. They make the compelling argument that it would be only sensible to learn from the workings of the brain in building artificial general intelligence since the brain is the only example currently in existence of such intelligence.
