Re-thinking mankind’s ancestry over the last few million years.

It is increasingly clear that the story of mankind’s ancestry over the last 10 million years is very complicated. Growing numbers of discoveries of new versions of hominins are muddying the picture. As a result, every facet of the story is being questioned. It is not just the timeline that may be changing. For example, perhaps man’s ancestors walked before leaving the forest for the savannah. Maybe there were several hominin lines. After all, various lines overlapped and interbred. Doubtless there will be further discoveries in the future. Perhaps the story will become clearer over time.
