Another subscriber to integrated information theory.

After years spent trying to hunt down the neural correlates of consciousness (NCCs), Koch settles for Giulio Tononi’s integrated information theory. This identifies consciousness with the aggregate of the information entailed by the relationships between neurons. This sum of information is the surplus over and above the information within the neurons themselves. Koch maintains that NCCs remain part of the story but they now seem secondary. He also muses on the unconscious mind, free will and God.
